Distilling Alcohol Courses

Original seal Courses - Spirits, Essential Oils, VinegarSince 1998 we host hands-on workshops and therefore we rely on a long experience. A course takes one and a half day and consist of a theoretical part and a practice day. In our alcohol distilling course you learn all about correct harvesting of fruit, preparing the mash, alcohol fermentation and problem treatment, distillation, design and construction of alcohol stills, diluting, filtration and storage of the spirits, performing vapor infusion and alcohol infusion. Up till now, the seminar participants have produced about 50 different kinds of spirits and fruit brandies in the scope of the workshop. A smaller selection of about 15 to 20 varieties are available for degustation during the course. At the practical day every participant distills independently with a provided small copper pot still. Approximately 25 to 30 different kinds of spirits and brandies are produced in one course. Classic spirits like Gin, Absinth, Ouzo, Mochito, herbal spirits, and raspberry spirit are among the most popular varieties produced in our seminar.

Distilling Essential Oil Courses

Original seal Courses - Spirits, Essential Oils, VinegarIn our hands-on workshop distilling essential oils and hydrosols you learn during the theoretical part all about harvesting to receive the highest possible oil yield, preparation and breaking up the plants, water steam destillation, design and construction of a still for essential oil and hydrosol production, separation of the essential oil from the hydrosol and basics to make soap, bath salt, perfume and massage oils. We have produced more than 70 different kinds of essential oils by ourselves, which we introduce during the lessons. On the second day you distill essential oils and hydrosols by yourself, both you can take home. Further you craft a soap, bath salt, perfume and massage oil. On the practical day we offer 10 to 15 different kinds of plants / herbs / spices for distilling. You have no time or possibility to attend our hands-on workshops? We host also online courses on distilling essential oils and hydrosols. Further we offer short films, covering special themes in preparing essential oils and hydrosols.

 

 

Making Vinegar Courses

Original seal Courses - Spirits, Essential Oils, VinegarIn the vinegar classes you learn thoroughly during the theoretical part the basics and practical issues of alcohol- and vinegar fermentation, which problems can occur and how to solve them, how to construct a vinegar fermenter, the surface process and generator process, additional flavours by packing the fermenter, storage, as well as breeding a vinegar mother. We have produced about 50 different kinds of vinegar, a special selection of these you can degust at the theoretical day. In the practical part of the course you make a vinegar mother by yourself which you can take home. You work with the surface process, start and finish a vinegar fermenter (generator process), analyze acetic acid content and alcohol content. Further you can chose to take away three different vinegars from our sortiment. You have no time or possibility to attend our hands-on workshops? We host also online courses on fermenting vinegar.
